NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2025, the Stevens Point Curling Club Board of Directors will hold a meeting.

Liabilities:

Pineries Commercial Loan: $104,102.61 — extended for 5 more years. 

Village of Plover Loan: $347,200.85

USCA Loan: $75,000.00

Total: $526,303.46

Status of Try Curling Events

• Try Curling Events: 4 Signed up
• Corporate Interest discussion - Sentry, Skyward, KI
  • Sentry is including us and the trying curling events in their wellness newsletter
• Facebook Events: Boosted ad is running
• Staffing: Jason is working on this
• Karli will follow up again with Celebrate Plover Group
• Member invite: Encourage word of mouth promotion 
• Website wording update request by Jason: Sessions are 90 minutes on ice, followed by off-ice social time
• PAyments via Google Forms: Working well 
  • PayPal verified by Josh
  • Fees: License Fee + Percentage per transaction 

 

Ice - Tom Violette - Steve 

• Ice prep is essentially complete
• 17 floods done
• Facebook post planned to announce ice opening for practice time 

 

 

Communications - Matt Davis 

• Committee: 5 members signed up
• Need clearer direction, Steve to talk to Terry
• Lindsey Cheever mentioned as a suggestion?
• Help still needed for the Opener 
• Fall registration needs to go live this week
  • Proposed Fall Clinics: October 7 & October 21 
    • Two registration forms
      • Fall league (includes free clinic)
      • Clinic-only sign up ($20) 
• Regular season registration: aiming to launch within 2 weeks 
• Consider setting a registration deadline - discussion on this 

 

Technology - Matt W 

• Focused on streaming and short-term website updates 

 

Bar Committee - Tina P. 

• Meeting planned for end of September or early October
• Tina sent over inventory spreadsheet, she and Tracy were at the club Saturday 9/13 working on the bar items 
• Bartender list and renewals sent out

 

 

Curling Experiences & Facility Rentals - Brody

Still looking for one more on-ice volunteer. Brody reached out to everyone on the volunteer list. Only Doug volunteered. Sandra sent out a reminder this week for more help. 

 

Oct 3- UWSP and UW-Madison will hold a practice 4-6pm. Madison curlers will pay $20 ea.

Oct 28- Insight FS will hold a corporate event 4-6pm

Dec 20th -  Holiday event John Herder

This event was not added to the club calendar before a flood was scheduled. Brody is working with John to find a solution for his party.

Inquiry received from Ben Mahony at Sentry about another group outing. Unknown date.

SPCC Events organizer  - Brody take the lead on this going forward?
